Algerian military helicopter crash kills at least 12 soldiers

ALGIERS 28th March 2016 (WAM) -- At least 12 Algerian soldiers were killed when a military helicopter crashed in the south of the country.

Algerian Ministry of Defense said in a statement that MI -171 helicopter of Algerian air forces crashed during a reconnaissance mission near Reggane in the Adrar region about 1400 kilometers to the south of the capital due to a technical malfunction.

Deputy Minister of National Defense Chief of Staff of People's National Army (ANP) Lieutenant General Ahmed Gaid Salah has appointed a commission of inquiry to determine the circumstances of the incident.
