Oman- Utsab 2016 dance event to be held on April 8

Muscat residents are about to be charmed on April 8 with the programme Utsab 2016 which will be featuring the mesmerising performance of Tanusree Shankar one of the leading dancers and choreographers of contemporary dance.

She is the leading dancer of the Ananda Shankar Centre for Performing Arts. Dance is an art form which represents the hidden language of the soul. It is an aesthetic quality of art involving grace style and movement which transcends all language barriers.

Tanusree has fused traditional Indian dances with modern Western ballet expressions. She travels extensively with her troupe around the world. Wife of the renowned late music composer Ananda Shankar who himself was the son of dancers Pandit Uday Shankar and Amala Shankar Tanusree has earned a reputation with her own talent creativity and hard work. She has also featured as an actress in several movies.

The programme will be hosted by the Alumni of Bengal Engineering College Oman Chapter at the Oman Auditorium Al Bustan Palace a Ritz-Carlton Hotel. Besides their other benevolent activities towards their beloved Alma Mater the alumni has also been entertaining large groups of audiences over the past few years with fascinating shows by performing artistes of various genres. Their first successful venture was the presentation of the musical maestro Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty.
