Oman- CBO workshop on IFSB for Islamic banks

The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) will host a workshop on 'Facilitating the Implementation of IFSB Standards' in co-ordination with Islamic Financial Services Board.

The workshop will be held under the patronage of H E Hamood Sangour al Zadjali executive president of the CBO at Crowne Plaza Muscat from March 28-31.

The workshop is being organised as part of capacity building initiatives to improve the skills and capabilities of the staff of Islamic banks and windows operating in Oman and the supervisory departments of the CBO.

The workshop will deliberate on 'revised capital adequacy standards' and 'revised guidance on key elements in the supervisory process of institutions offering Islamic financial services' and will assist the participants in implementation of these two standards by offering them training with the help of practical case studies. Over 40 participants from different Islamic banks and windows and the supervisory departments of the CBO will participate in this workshop a CBO statement said on Sunday.
