Belgian prosecutor denies organizer of Brussels airports blasts detained


(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) The Belgian Federal Prosecutor denied Friday's media reports claiming that an accomplice of Paris attacks mastermind and organizer of explosions in the Brussels airport was detained during a raid in Brussels local media reported.

Earlier in the day the police broke into a building in Brussels' Schaerbeek Commune in a special operations. Two explosions were heard later confirmed to have been triggered by sappers by local authorities.

One person was detained. Media reports claimed that Mohamed Abrini suspected organizer of blasts in the Brussels airport and accomplice of likely Paris attacks mastermind Salah Abdeslam was the detainee.

According to the RTBF television channel the prosecutor claimed that Abrini was not the person detained by the police.

On Tuesday two suicide blasts hit the departures hall of Brussels' Zaventem international airport and an explosion shook a subway carriage at the Maelbeek station close to the EU institutions. Daesh terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attacks.

The deadly terror attacks in Brussels on Tuesday claimed the lives of at least 32 people and injured over 300.
