VW needs extra time to resolve affected vehicles


(MENAFN) Volkswagen (VW) missed a deadline to present an agreement with regulators to fix its diesel emissions issue distressing more than half a million of its vehicles in the US.

The struggling giant was given until last Thursday to create a plan that would fix about 600,000 Audi, Volkswagen and Porsche cars that cheated on diesel-emissions exams.

In September, the German carmaker admitted that some of its diesel vehicles used illegal defeat device software after regulators said VW's diesel cars emit nitrogen oxides.

As a response for missing the deadline, VW declared that it's committed to resolving the U.S. regulatory investigation into the diesel emissions matter as quickly as possible.
