Meanwhile the Israeli police detained late Friday four Palestinian teens after they allegedly threw Molotov cocktails at an illegal Israeli settlement in occupied East Jerusalem.

Israeli police spokesperson Luba Al Samri said the teens hurled firebombs at Beit Orot settlement located northeast of the Old City near Mount of Olives and the Palestinian Al-Suwwana neighborhood.

Lawyer for Silwan-based watchdog the Wadi Hilweh Information Center told (Ma’an) news agency the four were taken to the Russian Compound police station for questioning. The lawyer visited the teens in detention where they told him a group of undercover Israeli officers detained them near Al-Tur junction.

One of the four told the lawyer he was on his way to a pharmacy to buy medicine another said he was working in the area while the other two said they were walking home when they were detained.

The lawyer said signs of torture were clear on the bodies of two of them.At least 550 Jerusalemite Palestinians are currently held in Israeli jails according to prisoners’ rights group Addameer.

The group says Israel tries East Jerusalem Palestinians in civilian courts despite the fact that the area is under military occupation which would stipulate its residents be tried in military courts. (QNA)
