Turkmenistan prides solid ties with Iran

(MENAFN) In light of the historical sanctions' removal, Turkmenistan and Iran, the oil/gas rich neighbors, plan to grow joint business to a significant USD60 billion throughout the coming decade, according to the latest reports.

The anticipated collaboration will include finance, banking, transit of goods, technical engineering, natural gas swap, building the Iran-Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan railway link, let alone joint economic and industrial schemes.

Additionally, among its 15 neighboring countries, the central Asian country has the finest and best relations with Iran, not to mention that Turkmen officials are eagerly interested in cooperation with the Persian Gulf Islamic Republic.

Furthermore, Iran has the largest volume of trade exchange with Turkmenistan after Russia, plus it was the first country to recognize Turkmenistan as an independent nation when it split from the Soviet Union back in 1991.
