Syria government forces retake all of Palmyra from IS

Palmyra:Syrian government forces recaptured the famed ancient city of Palmyra on Sunday in a major symbolic victory over the Islamic State jihadist group a military source said.

"After heavy fighting during the night the army is in full control of Palmyra -- both the ancient site and the residential neighbourhoods" the source said.
