Turkish warplanes target IS sites N. Iraq


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ANKARA March 26 (KUNA) -- Turkish warplanes attacked locations that belong to the so-called Islamic State (IS) in northern Iraq in retaliation to the killing of a Turkish soldier and injuring another the Army said Saturday.

In a statement the Chief of Staff command said Turkish warplanes targeted four IS locations adding military operations against the group were continuing.

The statement added that the international coalition also targeted with tanks and heavy artillery four other sites that belong to IS.

Earlier the army said one Turkish soldier was killed and another injured in shelling from northern Iraq by IS. (pickup previous) rs.mb
