US investments in India expand considerably


(MENAFN) India has just surpassed China in terms of direct equity allocation by US investors, according to the latest reports.

The South Asian Republic makes up 1.8pct of US foreign equity holdings as on December-2015 compared to 1.6%pct of China.

US investors direct investment in Indian equities has climbed from USD7 billion in Sep-2013 to USD12 billion in last year's December.

Meanwhile, from a peak of 5.2pct in Jan-2015, the over-allocation into India by active funds has decreased to 3.7pct in Jan-2016.
