U.S. hands ZTE brief export permit

(MENAFN) The U.S. Commerce Department will grant ZTE Corp., the Chinese tech behemoth a temporary export license, becoming effective from March-24 through June-30.

Experts from U.S. and China have warned that the restrictions of the Commerce Department against the Chinese company over trade would hurt American suppliers severely.

On March 7, the Commerce Department declared its decision to enforce export restraints on ZTE Corp. and three associated entities for suspected violation of U.S. export controls on Iran.

ZTE, a provider of mobile devices and wire systems, has been operating in the US since 1998, and it has become the 4th largest smartphone supplier throughout the country.
