Uber declares USD10k reward to spot issues

(MENAFN) Uber, the controversial car hailing service, is offering a reward of up to USD10 thousand to hackers who are able to identify probable bugs in its computer system.

The California-based firm has already initiated a private, beta bug bounty program last year for more than 200 security examiners, who in turn found a total of almost 100 bugs.

As the bugs were fixed, helping Uber to advance security, the company decided to kick off the official bug bounty program or loyalty reward program, to encourage members to dig deep.

"We believe that bug bounty programs are a crucial part of the modern software development lifecycle, incentivizing our community to find even the most subtle bugs," said an Uber executive.
