China's Manzhouli port receives major attention


Manzhouli, China's biggest land port is anticipated to see its annual highway cargo handling volume jump to 10 million tons throughout the year from the existing 3 million tons.

The progress will be the result of the first-stage of a project targeted at promoting road services of the port, which borders Russia to the north and also sits close to Mongolia.

Over 65 percent of overland trade between China and Russia passes through Manzhouli, according to the government of Manzhouli City, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Furthermore, the 1st-phase building will be finished by the end of Oct, with a projected investment of nearly USD159 million, and it's expected to completely finish by 2017.
