Israeli Forces detain 16 Palestinians from Jerusalem Bethlehem

JERUSALEM 22nd March 2016 (WAM) -- Israeli forces detained 16 Palestinians overnight on Tuesday from Jerusalem and Bethlehem districts in the occupied West Bank.

Forces leading tracker dogs launched large-scale detention raids across Jerusalem particularly in the Old City's neighbourhoods detaining 15 Palestinian former detainees and minors according to Palestinian security sources.

Forces also summoned an unidentified number of Palestinian youths and minors.

Meanwhile in the southern West Bank district of Bethlehem forces detained a Palestinian after breaking into and ransacking his house in Duheisha refugee camp south of the city triggering clashes with locals.

Troops leading tracker dogs stormed Palestinian houses after closing the Hebron-Jerusalem Street in both directions. During clashes troops fired tear gas canisters and stun grenades. No injuries were reported.

To the south of Bethlehem in Hebron district forces stormed at least 3 houses during a predawn raid into Bani Na'im a town to the east of the city.
