Myanmar generates USD500m from border trade


(MENAFN) Myanmar's border trade made more than USD500 million through the fiscal year 2015-16 as opposed to the preceding year's figures, based on recent reports.

The border trade value for almost 12 months till March reached USD6.56 billion, whereas that for the same timeframe of the previous fiscal year 2014-15 was USD6.14 billion.

In particular, the export assessment through border trade for 12 months of the cited FY was USD4.15 billion while the import worth for the same period was USD2.4 billion.

Furthermore, there are 15 border trade zones in Myanmar and the government targets to open five new border trade zones in Mine Lat to link with China, India and Thailand.
