Qatar- NHRC Chairman Participates in ICC's Executive Office Meeting

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Geneva March 21 (QNA) - The National Human Rights Committee(NHRC) represented by its Chairman Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri participated today in the meeting of the Executive Bureau of the ICC International Coordinating Committee of National Human Rights Institutions in Geneva in preparation for the 29th annual general meeting to be his held on Tuesday.
Al Marri said that the NHRC took part in the meeting by virtue of its capacity as the member of the ICC's Executive Office pointing out that the meeting discussed regional challenges and their impacts and upcoming steps to avoid these challenges.
He noted that the meeting shed light on department of the national institutions of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights the United Nations Development Programme's office the roundtable report on proposed amendments of the international coordinating committee's statute in addition to a report of the sub-committee on the strategic plan.
In a press statement NHRC Chairman said that the meeting also touched on EU financing and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the funding of the international coordinating committee and its work and progress in Geneva and issues related to its strategic plan.(QNA)
