She is a producer and director by profession and runs her production house from both her home and her office space in Downtown Dubai. Her work requires her to travel frequently to oversee movie shoots and other projects. This is how she maintains a healthy work-life balance.

Being early to rise

When you do not have a specific shoot in the morning and your first meeting is at 2pm, it is easy to be tempted to sleep in and wake up late. However, I believe this spoils your work productivity and I always make sure I'm up early. With the weather as nice as it is these days, a morning jog is a must. Having a relaxing schedule that includes morning prayers, a heavy breakfast and browsing the newspaper is a must for me.

Planning mini-getaways

When you work in a creative field with writing and ideating, it's common to feel moody, especially if work gets delayed. You need to constantly rejuvenate yourself and find new things that inspire you. Travelling, weekend getaways (or even weekday getaways, if you can manage it) and experiencing new things are all good for the soul. They help you stay positive and feel blessed, helping you take control of your mood and lifestyle.

Having 'me-time'

Whatever my schedule is, I always find a healthy dose of 'me-time' with activities such as going to the spa or the movies, shopping, swimming or simply calling up a close friend for a great gossip session (which is therapeutic for each and every girl of any age). Dancing is another great way for me to feel happy and I have Zumba classes three times a week for that.

Finding balance

Finding the right balance between work and family is the ultimate goal. Do not take up so much work that everything else in life takes a backseat. This will only make you start feeling low about missing out on the joys of life. As they say, life is all about the journey and not just the destination.

Spending time with family

My family is my best stress-buster and I love spending time with them. The right emotional support system works wonders. Laughing, having fun and relaxing with family members keeps me motivated and happy.
