(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) SPICA, named after the brightest star in the constellation Virgo, is a Korean girl group set to wow crowds at KCON Abu Dhabi with foot-tapping melodies that are sure to leave you with a severe case of Last Song Syndrome (even if you've never heard of K-Pop!).
City Times caught up with members - Kim Bo A, Yang Ji Won, Park Na Rae, Kim Bo Hyung and Park Si Hyun - for a quick chat about their upcoming visit to Abu Dhabi.
What are your thoughts on the Middle East and its K-Pop fan base?
This will be our first time visiting the Middle East and we are very excited. For us, this region is known for its cultural history. We believe that K-Pop has become a worldwide phenomenon, and have heard about fans' enthusiasm from the Middle East, which has us thrilled.
What are you looking forward to in Abu Dhabi and at KCON?
We would like to experience UAE culture as much as possible despite the short given time. As KCON is also about 'K-culture convention' and not just a concert, we are also looking forward to connect with fans in diverse ways. One of our members Narae Park will be at the Get-It-Beauty session and share her own make-up tips. We'd also like to showcase our music and performance on stage.
If you had to recommend a SPICA song to charm someone who's not familiar with your music, what would it be?
We'd recommend two - You Don't Love Me, which has witty lyrics and a catchy brass melody, and Russian Roulette, which features a more powerful beat.
Do you have a message for UAE fans?
We are honoured to perform at KCON Abu Dhabi and can't wait to see you all. This year we'll be releasing SPICA's long-waited comeback album and have various activities lined up for 2016. We are very grateful to start off our schedule with the Middle East, and hope to perform on more global stages after KCON Abu Dhabi. We will do our best to put on a great performance.
