Public beheadings and female beatings: Documentary exposes Saudi Arabia

This video clip shows a woman being beheaded in public view in Saudi Arabia which is notorious for such punishments. The victim screams “I did not do it” but she is held down on a roadside while a policeman decapitates her with a sword. She had been convicted of killing her stepdaughter. This horror footage revealed in the documentary to be broadcast tomorrow shows five headless bodies – said to belong to robbers – hanging on a pole as a reminder to the public not to step out of line. Their bodies were said to have been left hanging there for days. In Saudi Arabia death penalty can be imposed for anything from drug abuse and homosexuality to adultery and witchcraft. Other popular punishments include public stonings lashings and even amputation of hands or feet.

The shocking documentary features what locals call the Chop Chop Square in the capital of Riyadh where many of such killings take place. In the video clip below another act of public beheading was captured reportedly by a tourist.
