Muscat Int'l Film Festival kicks off


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) MUSCAT March 21 (KUNA) -- The ninth edition of the Muscat International Film Festival (MIFF) kicked off on Monday with the participation of actors and actresses from 25 countries.

In a press statement Dr. Khaled Al-Zadjali president of Oman Film Society (OFS) and the festival said the event features about 100 Arab and foreign actors actresses and writers.

He added that the festival which runs until March 27 includes some competitions on short and documentary films and other artworks noting that there are ten awards for the best actor actress scenarist film and others.

He revealed that some Arab figures will be honored during the festival like Kuwaiti actress Suad Abdullah late Egyptian actor Nour Al-sharif and others who contributed to the march of cinema. (end) ahr.hm
