S. Korea posts 20pct surge in mobile shopping over 2015


(MENAFN) Over half of online consumers in South Korea used mobile phones when shopping last year, reflecting a 20pct jump from 2014, as a recent survey has shown.

Additionally, the number of people in the nation's capital who purchased products online was roughly 55.3 percent, according to data released by the Seoul Institute.

Meanwhile, the number of customers using desktop computers for shopping steadily deteriorated from 86.7 percent in 2012 to 80.3 percent throughout the prior year.

Based on the institute's results, last year, 46.4 percent of people used a mobile device for shopping, growing from 28.9 and 35.5 percent in 2012 and 2013, respectively.
