China, S Korea team up to ignite VR sector

(MENAFN) In order to take lead in the growing segment, South Korea intends to reinforce collaboration with China for the development and marketing of virtual reality (VR) gear and related products.

Previously this month, South Korea stated plans to spend USD150 million in the next three years to promote the local VR field and support the development of related platforms, games and theme parks.

VR is an integration of hardware, software, and virtual content designed to offer users with the simulation of a physical presence in a real or imagined world, plus its global market is estimated at USD4 billion this year.

"The VR industry is drawing the world's attention. It's important to take the initiative in the global market through partnerships with China based on our development experience," said a Korean official.
