Kuwait affirms keenness on products' quality

KUWAIT March 20 (KUNA) -- Director General of the Quality Laboratories Management for the Public Authority for Industry Fayza Al-Mathkour said the department is keen on enhancing quality of Kuwaiti products in order to export them globally.
Al-Mathkour said in an interview with KUNA on Sunday that the most important achievement of the Laboratory Quality Management recently was winning international accreditation and global recognition for the laboratories of the department.
She added that the total revenue raised through the department amounted to KD 236003 in 2015 to 2016 six percent up from 2014 noting that the administration has developed its own electronic system to facilitate and speed up activities of the labs.
She said the department is the first government laboratory that has received the international certificate (ISO) for chemical laboratories.
The Quality Laboratories Management which was established in 1984 under jurisdictions of the specifications sector and industrial services in the Public Authority for Industry includes five laboratories specialized in tests and standardization.(end) km.ysa.haq
