More than 3000 children allotted seats in Indian schools in Muscat

More than 3000 children have been allotted seats from KG I to Class IX in Indian schools in the capital area.

A press release stated that members of the board principals admin managers and admission cells in-charge of each school were present during the first draw which was held last week.

'The maximum rush is seen in lower classes particularly in KG I KG II and Class I. The board is in the process of increasing capacity in Indian School Darsait Indian School Ma'abela and Indian School Seeb to accommodate the wait-listed students.'

It stated that since the whole process is computerised the system is being updated with additional options and parents of students who are on waitlist will be informed by SMSes and e-mails to give their choice of school.

'Allotment of seats in the next draw will be based on parents' preference.' The revised vacancies created due to increase of seats will be posted on www.indianschoolsoman.com.

A new branch of Indian School Muscat in Ghubra will be starting classes for KG I. 'After passing out from KG II in 2018 children from this branch will be provided seats in one of the Indian schools in the capital area.'

Online application for admission to Class XI has also started. 'Parents can approach schools directly as there will be no draw for admission to this class.'
