Arab League Hails Qatar's Efforts in Releasing Djiboutian Prisoners of War

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Cairo March 19 (QNA) - Secretary-General of the Arab League Dr Nabil El-Arabi has expressed appreciation for the efforts of the State of Qatar in mediation between Djibouti and Eritrea which resulted in the release of Djiboutian prisoners of war in Eritrea.
He welcomed in a statement issued by the General Secretariat of the Arab League on Friday the release of Djiboutian prisoners of war by Eritrea after Qatari mediation describing it as an important step to open the door to address all outstanding issues between the two countries.
The statement expressed Arab League's hope to settle the border dispute that broke out between Eritrea and Djibouti in February 2008. (QNA)
