Qatar- GCC Traffic Week teams honoured


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) GCC delegates attending one of the activities.

Doha: The Interior Ministry’s Traffic Department organised a ceremony to honour delegations attending the 32nd GCC Traffic Week along with entities and companies participating and supporting the event held under the theme ‘Your Decision Determines Your Fate’. The GCC Traffic Week concluded yesterday.

The ceremony was organised at Kempinski Hotel in the presence of officials from the ministry.

Addressing the ceremony Lt. Colonel Mohammed Radhi Al Hajri Director Media and Traffic Awareness at the department praised efforts of all participants to ensure the success of the events and increase awareness about road safety.

He also hailed the department’s partnership with institutions and said it which reflected in active participation of government agencies institutions companies community organisations and youth clubs.

He also highlighted GCC delegations’ participation in activities and said their participation reflected an outstanding level of cooperation among the GCC countries.

More than 60 government and non-governmental entities took part in activities. The Traffic Department’s offices outside Doha also held awareness activities simultaneously. Schools and entities visited Darb El-Saei the main venue of the event.

This year’s Traffic Week saw participation of more entities from the private sector and civil society organisations in various activities such as traffic exhibition daily awareness lectures forums and workshops.

Activities blended fun with awareness programmes addressing different categories of people such as theatrical shows competitions and quizzes lectures a miniature Souq Waqif and a play area for children.QNA
