Japanese tourists in S. Korea jump 1.3 percent


(MENAFN) The number of Japanese tourists visiting S. Korea jumped 1.3 percent in Feb from a year earlier, marking the first time the number has increased on-year.

Furthermore, the number of Japanese tourists came up to 144,493 last month, growing from the 142,587 posted in the same month last year.

The whole number of foreign visitors to S. Korea came to 1.12mn in Feb, up 7.2 percent from a year earlier, while Chinese nationals accounted for 546,408.

Vietnamese citizens, recorded the sharpest growth of 81.5 percent in Feb from a year earlier at 17,804, trailed by Malaysian nationals.
