UAE- Khalifa Foundation continues relief assistance in Tajikistan

From Omar Al Sa'adi DUSHANBE 17th March 2016 (WAM) -- The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation KF is continuing its efforts to prepare assistance in the second stage of its relief programme to Tajikistan after the first phase saw an aid convoy comprising 95 trucks travel from the capital of Tajikistan to the Badakhshan Province west of Dushanbe.

The aid comes in implementation of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

In the first phase of the relief programme about 200 tonnes of emergency relief materials and basic requirements were purchased by the Khalifa Foundation from the local market and transported to the affected areas.

Tajik Government officials said that they appreciated the honorable humanitarian attitude of the United Arab Emirates and its active and positive role in time of crises disasters and conflicts in the world which embodies the meaning of human solidarity.

The beneficiaries of the first phase of relief assistance extended their thanks and appreciation to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and to the Khalifa Foundation for their continuous support to them.
