S. Korea logs 2.3pct rise in LPG market over 2015

(MENAFN) Mostly driven to a jump in demand from LPG-powered vehicles and homes and low oil prices, the sales of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in South Korea surged 2.3 percent last year from a year earlier.

Basically, a total of 6.06 million metric tons were sold in the world's 4th largest economy for industrial plants, city gas and vehicles, as opposed to a total of 5.93 million metric tons over the preceding year.

Industry watchers declared that the demand for LPG will further hike as price-conscious consumers opt to purchase LPG-powered vehicles and carmakers are set to roll out varied low-priced LPG cars.

Furthermore, SK Gas Co., the country's No. 1 LPG gas supplier, sold a total of 1.724 million metric tons throughout the previous year, marginally down from 1.728 million tons a year earlier.
