DOHA: The General Authority of Customs’ pavilion at the 32nd GCC Traffic Week is drawing visitors in large numbers to the display of banned items seized at the country’s land and sea borders and from people who flew into the country last year.

The items include drugs and a number of counterfeit products.

Also on display are several pirated software and other goods that violate the country’s intellectual property rights’ law and some banned health

products.

These were the products people were trying to bring into the country through land or sea borders or by air in violation of local laws reports Qatar News Agency (QNA).

The idea behind the display is to make people aware of what products are banned here and which people coming into the country must avoid carrying. The General Authority of Customs is distributing at the Traffic Week which ends on Saturday brochures and pamphlets explaining Qatar’s customs rules and procedures and the authority’s role in preventing the entry of banned goods into the country.
