Qatar Postal Service Company hosts workshop

DOHA: Qatar Postal Service Company yesterday held a workshop in collaboration with Japan Post Service and it was attended by the Chairman of Saudi Postal Corporation (SPC) and representative of Emirates Post Group in addition to representatives of different government entities.
It is an appropriate time to share experiences of mutual interest among delegates from member countries and to learn from both the Japanese and GCC experiences including the regulatory framework of the postal sector in Japan and new postal services such as e-commerce said Faleh Mohammed Al Naemi Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of Qatar Post in his opening speech.
He added: “We are going through a complete transformation journey and adopting strategic plans to promote the development of the postal sector and services within Qatar”.
The workshop which represents a great opportunity for enriching and exchanging experiences is also a chance to move forward to achieve successful expansion of postal services and operations Al Naemi emphasised.
He added that yesterday’s meeting was an important step towards the achievement of “our aims and our partners’ aims too”.
“There were no so many postal services within the GCC states earlier and what we are longing for is to enhance communication and improve services” said Masahiko Metoki head of the Japanese delegation. Metoki added that this meeting will be a good opportunity to exchange opinions to improve postal services between Japan and the GCC countries.
“I am here today to share experiences and information with our partners from Qatar Japan and the UAE about possible means to promote postal services and provide best services for the people in the GCC states in addition to contributing to e-commerce” said Mohammed bin Saleh Chairman of Saudi Postal Corporation (SPC). Such meetings will increase the level of cooperation between Japan and the GCC countries “ where we are going to discuss a road map leading to joint works and exchanges of experiences to benefit our citizens companies and countries” the chairman of SPC added.
Meanwhile Q-Post made in 2013 a strategic transition by changing the corporation into a leading company providing global postal services to meet market demands. The new strategy included improvement of services use latest technology.
In a press release Q-Post pointed out that it has clear aims that must be achieved through well studded plans and in collaboration with our partners who provided valued opinions and suggestions to meet the increasing volume of parcels and post services and e-commerce.
