(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) WASHINGTON March 16 (KUNA) -- Coalition military forces continued to attack the so-called Islamic State (IS) conducting two airstrikes in Syria and nine in Iraq the Combined Joint Task Force announced on Wednesday.In Syria near Al Hawl two strikes struck an IS tactical unit and destroyed nine IS fighting positions the announcement said.In Iraq near Al Huwayjah one strike destroyed an IS heavy machine gun it said.Near Hit three strikes struck two separate IS tactical units and destroyed two IS vehicles an IS assembly area six IS rocket rails two IS weapons caches an IS anti-air artillery piece and an IS mortar position and denied IS access to terrain the statement said.Near Kisik two strikes destroyed four IS assembly areas and suppressed an IS fighting position it said.Near Sinjar three strikes destroyed three IS heavy machine guns and four IS fighting positions and suppressed an IS heavy machine gun position it said.
