Oman- MSM30 marginally declines as volumes improve

The benchmark index of Muscat Securities Market marginally decreased by 0.03 per cent on Tuesday to close at 5295.88 points.

Both Omani and GCC institutions as well as retail investors were net buyers on Tuesday while other foreign institutions remained net seller.

The market breadth was positive with 14 advancing stocks to 13 declining stocks while as many as 18 traded stocks remained unchanged.

The market witnessed an improvement on Tuesday in terms of activity. While total turnover rose by 22.2 per cent to RO3.12mn market volumes jumped by 25 per cent to 14.06mn shares.

Among top gainers of the day were Gulf International Chemicals (+8.78 per cent) Al Batinah Development and Investment Holding (+7.14 per cent) Gulf Investment Services (+2.22 per cent) and Sharqia Desalination (+1.85 per cent). Top losers included Oman Textile Holding (-9.89 per cent) Renaissance Services (-3.45 per cent) Bank Dhofar (-2.61 per cent) and Voltamp Energy (-2.27 per cent).
