Alibaba offers help to young entrepreneurs

(MENAFN) Alibaba touched an arrangement with the China Communist Youth League, a CPC reserve force, to train one million teenagers to take e-commerce to rural areas.

Under the promising agreement, the e-commerce behemoth will aid the rural youth to jumpstart online businesses by contributing training, funds and partnerships.

In particular, Alibaba's internet finance arm Ant Financial will allocate a total of USD154mn to support college graduates who want to return to their hometowns to start businesses.

Online sales in rural areas grew at double the pace of urban areas, as rural customers, who account for nearly one-third of the total, spent USD29.9mn online last year.
