UAE- Mum who lost 3 kids in Sharjah accident is stable

An Egyptian woman who lost her three children in a crash on Saturday in Sharjah is in a stable condition an official at Al Dhaid Hospital said.

While three of her children - aged 14 13 and six - died in the tragic accident on the Al Dhaid - Al Weshah Road two surviving children remain hospitalised. A three-year old boy is in a stable condition while the other child aged eight remains in a critical condition in the hospital's intensive care unit.

The father of the victims arrived back to the UAE on Saturday and is working on the procedures and paperwork of having the bodies of his deceased children repatriated to Egypt. According to the hospital official the mother has already been informed about the deaths of her children.

According to police officials the accident occurred when a speeding truck jumped the red light and crashed into the car which was carrying the family. The truck driver was arrested at the scene and is being held in custody at Al Dhaid Police Station pending trial and the ongoing investigation.

Bodies of Indian students repatriated

The bodies of three Indian students who were killed in a second Sharjah car crash have been repatriated to their native Kerala after being embalmed at the Medical Fitness Centre at Sonapur Labour accommodation according to relatives.

The three students were travelling in a group of five friends in two cars when one of the vehicles a Mitsubishi lancer was struck by a speeding car after attempting a U-turn in an unauthorised area.

The victims were all born and raised here in the UAE and studied together at the same school. They were close friends and were all from from longtime expatriate business families.

The father of Ashmid Ashraf (20) runs restaurants in Dubai and Sharjah while the father of 21-year old Mohammed Sunoon has a mobile phone and electronics shop in Al Madam. Sunoon's father had left for a trip to India just three days before the crash.

Only the parents of 20-year old Shifaam Musthafa were able to accompany the body back to Panoor Kannur as the parents of the other two were in India at the time of the accident.

The incidents mark the latest in a string of deadly car crashes that have occurred in the UAE over the last few weeks which have included the deaths of two Canadians and two Americans in a Ferrari crash in Dubai last week and the death of a 21-year old Emirati in Dibba Fujairah on Sunday.
