Basketball: Mildon shines as Al Shamal edge Al Khor in Qatar Cup
(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Action from the Qatar Cup basketball match between Al Shamal and Al Khor at Al Rayyan Indoor Stadium in Doha yesterday. Al Shamal won 87-77.
Doha: Ambres Mildon and Kosar Abdulqadir along with Hachad Mohamed Kamal did the bulk of scoring for Al Shamal in their 87-77 win over Al Khor in the Qatar Cup basketball at Al Rayyan Indoor Stadium yesterday.
Mildon top scored for the winners scoring 26 points while Abdulqadir and Kamal with 24 and 22 points all combined to give coach Hassam Hachad a well deserved win.
Al Shamal took off at a quick pace taking a run away 32-10 lead in the first quarter and maintained a consistent run in the next three quarters to pocket the tie.
At the end of the second period Al Shaml led 50-27 and went into the final quarter with the score reading at 69-45.
For Al Khor Rembert Patrick Ronald top scored with 25 points while Abouo Charles (14) Hadzibegovic Alen (12) and Adam Abdulaziz (11) were the other significant scorers.
In the second match El Jaish defeated Al Wakrah 96-83.The Peninsula
