2015 INDIEFAB Book of the Year Awards names Balls of Fire as Finalist

(MENAFNEditorial) The study entitled Balls of Fire: a Science of Life and Death has been recognized as a Finalist in the 18th annual Foreword Reviews INDIEFAB Book of the Year Awards under the Nonfiction Adult category of Body Mind and Spirit.

Each year Foreword Reviews shines a light on a select group of indie publishers university presses and self-published authors whose work stands out from the crowd. In the next three months a panel of more than 100 volunteer librarians and booksellers will determine the winners in 63 categories based on their experience with readers and patrons.

Balls of Fire (2015) by Judy Kay King uses a fantasy baseball game of dead and living thinkers to expose hidden historical knowledge about death and evolution. The study offers evidence that our behavior is based on underlying genetic principles inherited from our microbial ancestors and it continues Kings research program based on The Isis Thesis (2004) a semiotic study of the least-corrupted ancient Egyptian texts that is supported by additional research in 12 peer-reviewed journal articles (2005-2013). Using the dual lens of science and human behavior the study presents transdisciplinary evidence that our society is based on genetic principles inherited from our microbial ancestors. Our behavior (baseball myth Christianity alchemy literature art capitalism genetic engineering our machinic culture and so on) shows that we have the potential to evolve at death into a unique hybrid species. Although lite historical rulers have veiled this knowledge our behavior has stamped a viral footprint for evolution on the last 12000 years of human history.

Foreword Reviews will celebrate the winners during a program at the American Library Association Annual Conference in Orlando Florida in June while naming the Editors Choice Prize 2015 for Fiction Nonfiction and Foreword Reviews 2015 INDIEFAB Publisher of the Year Award during the presentation.
