Qatar- Taiwan's President Elect Names Premier


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Taipei March 15 (QNA) - Taiwan's President-elect Tsai Ing-wen named former Finance Minister Lin Chuan as premier to propel the country's economy.

Lin 64 who led the Ministry of Finance from 2002 to 2006 drafted economic proposals that propelled Tsai’s Democratic Progressive Party to victory over the ruling Kuomintang in the elections held January. She takes office in May with plans to revive the island’s slowing economy.

Tsai is focusing on biotechnology green technology defence smart machinery and the Internet of Things.

Today she formally announced former finance minister Lin Chuan as her premier describing him as a good choice."I assure you that Lin's cabinet will not only be a financial and economic cabinet but also a cabinet with execution and communication ability" she said. (QNA)
