UAE- Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed receives CEO of Nokia

DUBAI 15th March 2016 (WAM) -- H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Deputy Ruler of Dubai has received Rajeev Suri President and Chief Executive of Nokia and his accompanying delegation at the Executive Council of Dubai.

H.H. Sheikh Maktoum welcomed the CEO of the company and the accompanying delegation drawing attention to the constructive efforts to achieve the vision of the UAE's wise leadership in providing an ideal working environment supported by an infrastructure upgrade to the highest levels of international quality for all institutions and companies.

For his part Mr. Rajeev expressed his admiration of the UAE in general and the Emirate of Dubai in particular and its astonishing evolution in all areas and what its provision of possibilities for companies and investors in all sectors. He appreciated the facilities and the warm welcome he received as well as support that the company has received through its regional office in Dubai to promote and achieve the aspirations of the emirate.

During the meeting they discussed a number of topics including the Dubai 2021 plan and Dubai Plan for Sustainability and its transition into a Smart City. They also discussed the Dubai strategy for innovation and Nokia's future vision and its aspirations to expand in the region in general and in Dubai in particular being characterised by all the elements of the modern city of smart infrastructure and economic and tourist elements.

The meeting was attended by Abdullah Abdulrahman Al-Shaibani Secretary-General of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai Ahmad Bin Byat Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Holding and Malek Al Malek CEO of Tecom Business Parks .
