Oman- More rainfall forecast from Tuesday

The Met office has said that several parts of the sultanate are likely to witness moderate to heavy rain starting from Tuesday until Thursday.

An official from the Met office said 'A developing low pressure is likely to bring rain and thunderstorms again in and around Muscat Al Hajar mountains Musandam Buraimi North Batinah and the coastal areas.

'There will be mainly clear skies over the rest of the sultanate with chance of late night to early morning low level clouds or fog patches over the governorates of Dhofar Al Wusta North and South Sharqiyah Dakhliyah and Dhahirah.'

The Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources (MRMWR) stations recorded the highest amount of rainfall in the wilayat of Quriyat (177mm) in Muscat governorate followed by Ibra (150mm) in North Sharqiyah Al Sininah (116mm) in Buraimi Samail (116mm) in Dakhliyah Rustaq (106mm) in South Batinah Saham (97mm) in North Batinah Al Kamil W'Al Wafi (88mm) in South Sharqiyah Dhank (84mm) in Dhahirah and the wilayat of Madha (35mm) in Musandam.

MRMWR said that Al Sireen Dam 1 in the wilayat of Amerat received 1.07mn m3 while the Al Sireen Dam 2 received 0.72mn m3 water last week.

The Al Khoudh Dam in the wilayat of Seeb received 11.5mn m3 Al Amerat Heights Dam 1 received 1mn m3 Al Amerat Heights Dam 2 received 6.5mn m3 while the A'Hin Dam in the wilayat of Sohar received 6.8mn m3 of rainwater last week.
