Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority has launched a stand at the Mall of the Emirates to raise awareness of traffic safety during the 32nd GCC Traffic Week.

"The GCC Traffic Week events are both interactive and creative. They are focused on all family members and visitors of Mall of the Emirate with the aim of raising public awareness about the risks of using the mobile phone while driving said Hussein Al Banna Executive Director of Traffic at RTA's Traffic & Roads Agency.

"This year we are keen to ensure that the activities of the traffic awareness stand cover all age groups while taking into account the cultural differences and social orientations. The stand has a Kids Corner offering printed material awareness-raising games and the latest edition of Salama Magazine. It also has an electronic training centre fitted with a 3D monitor simulating electronic games meant for youth who have got or in the process of getting a driver licence."

It also has racks exhibiting driver-oriented publications and giant screens displaying educative movies using 3D technology. The film has been tailor-made for the GCC Traffic Week offering pictorial narration of the risks of using mobile phone during driving along with drawings and statistics noted Al Banna.

The stand is open to visitors of the mall from 10am to 10pm. Traffic safety and awareness specialists will be on hand to help the public understand the importance of traffic safety and answer any questions.
