The Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development in collaboration with the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council hosts the third session of the Gulf Narrative Forum during the period from March 14 to 17 in Abu Dhabi under the patronage of Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development in the presence of 30 of the most important novelists and critics from all the Gulf countries.

The forum focuses on several key topics related to the specificity of the Gulf narration in creative areas of novels and fiction most importantly the Gulf narrative techniques in the field of biography the role of narration in short stories its significant value the nature of the Gulf narration in today's cultural diversity in addition to the relation of narration with translation the language and the national identity.

Shaikh Nahyan honoured Laila Al Othman from Kuwait Badria bint Ibrahim Al Shehhi from Oman Amin Saleh from Bahrain Sarah Al Jarwan from the UAE Abdul Aziz Saleh Saqabi from Saudi Arabia and Mohammed Abdul Hamid Kafoud from Qatar.

He also welcomed symbols of Gulf culture and thought in the third Gulf narration forum stressing that such events are always organised to support cultural creativity in UAE and the development of knowledge thereby contributing to the formation of the national conscience and enriching the lives of the sons and daughters of the Gulf countries.

He praised the significant role of Gulf narration pioneers and creators to reach the culture status they deserve pointing out that the celebration of the Gulf narrative forum bears a confident look towards the future through which we are looking forward for the exchange of experiences and dissemination of intellectual production and cultural practices.

On his part Saad Suleiman Al Nasban Head of the Culture Department of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council praised the efforts of the UAE in organising the third edition of the Gulf narration Forum valuing the presence and patronage of Shaikh Nahyan.

He pointed out that honouring the pioneers of Gulf narration in this forum is a generous gesture from the UAE Ministry of culture emphasising their value on cultural and knowledge.
