UAE- Children from 11 nations to attend Arab forum

As many as 120 Arab children from 11 Arab countries will participate at the 12th Sharjah Arab Children Forum ((SACF) which will begin on March 28.

Each country will have participation of four children at the week-long forum which aims to create a sustainable platform for intercommunication and cultural exchange.

The details of the week-long forum which will be held under patronage of Shaikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi Wife of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Member of Supreme Council and the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family affairs revealed at a press conference at Al Noor Island in Sharjah.

Reem BinKaram Head of the Supreme Organising Committee for SACF and Director of the Sharjah Children Centres said that the seven-day event will bring together 120 Arab children aged 8-12 years from 11 Arab countries including 80 Arab children from the UAE and various children centres in Sharjah.

Participating countries include the UAE Saudi Arabia Qatar Bahrain Kuwait Palestine Union of the Comoros Islamic Republic of Mauritania Republic of Sudan Morocco and Jordan.

BinKaram said: "The 12th SACF aims to abolish cultural and social barriers eliminating all forms of differences and nourish them with the teachings of unity. The forum also seeks to develop children's sense of social responsibility its importance and to solidify their belief that they are capable to work together in drawing a clear road map leading to innovation and success."

Reem BinKaram pointed out that the forum's slogan "Hear Us We Are the Future" is an explicit call by the participating children to highlight social challenges that face their future.

Series of events

A series of tailored training programmes will be introduced for the time at the 12the Forum to help Arab children enhance their leadership skills and encouraging them to adopt innovation.

Noura Mohammed Mubarak Deputy Head of Supreme Organising Committee for the SACF outlined the details of the programmes and workshops.

On Day 1 a networking session will be held allowing children to get to know one another and will undergo an workshop at the Rigga Children Centre in Sharjah.

The second day of the forum will host workshops organised by a series of non-government organisations (NGO) which will have educational seminars.

The third day of the forum will include a leadership training programme for children aged 8-12 years at Al Rigga Children Centre.

Children will also have the opportunity to learn about craftsmanship during the heritage day.
