ISESCO Criticizes UN Chief Statements on Morocco

(MENAFN- Morocco World News) The Director General of the Islamic Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri expressed discontent with UN Secretary General's statements on the Kingdom of Morocco and its national cause saying that these comments constitute a “legally and politically unacceptable move.”

The UN Chief’s statements constitute “a legally and politically unacceptable move that is at odds with the United Nations' principles enshrined in the General Assembly's recommendations and in the Security Council's resolutions” the organization said Monday in a statement.

Altwaijri said that such a strange attitude of the UN Secretary General's by the end of his term is likely “to increase tension in the region and to threaten world peace and security.”

The Director General expressed his astonishment at such a sudden shift in the position of Ban Ki-moon which “undermines his credibility and neutrality in a case which has a clear course at the United Nations.”
