Wall Street shares seen opening lower after Friday gains


(MENAFN- ProactiveInvestors)Wall Street shares are poised for a softer open after a strong finish at the tail end of last week. The broad-based S&P 500 and the Dow Jones both rose on the week finishing March 11 for the fourth time in a row closing at their highest levels of the year. The Dow closed up 218 points at 17213 while the Nasdaq lifted 86 points at 4748. The S&P500 finished  32 points to the good at 1971. European shares are trading higher today and Asian shares die well overnight - the Nikkei and Shanghai Composite up 1.74% and 1.75% respectively. But Dow Jones futures are trading 22 points lower; the Nasdaq is 10.25 points off and S&P500 futures are around four points lower Weighing on sentiment is the oil price after Iran said it wouldn't take part in an OPEC output freeze until it actually boosts its own production. US crude is down 2.7% at US$37.47 while WTI futures for April delivery are 2.6% lower at US$37.51 a barrel.
