Kuwait Ambassador meets students presenting Kuwait in RomeMUN

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ROME March 13 (KUNA) -- The Ambassador of Kuwait to Italy Sheikh Ali Al-Khalid Al-Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah met on Sunday a group of students from Friedrich-Schiller-University of Jena in Germany who will represent the Kuwaiti delegation in The Rome Model United Nations 2016-(RomeMUN) resembling a role model of Kuwait's participation at international organizations' events to be launched in Rome Monday.Kuwait's Embassy in a statement said the diplomat offered an extended explanation to the German students on top landmarks in Kuwait besides its pioneer role in supporting global humanitarian work. He stressed on youth role in building a bright future of cherishing peace freedom justice goodness and safety for a world free of conflicts crises and radicalism through boosting values of positive dialogue cooperation and humanitarian solidarity.He replied to questions by the students who will reincarnate role of Kuwaiti delegations in international agencies namely United Nations Disarmament Commission (UNDC) United Nations Commission on Human Rights (UNCHR) International Women's Conference as well as Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).Kuwait has a deep-rooted bright history in offering help to people in need including victims of natural disasters and political conflicts in various parts of the world he affirmed. This resulted in granting His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah the title of "Humanitarian Leader" and naming Kuwait a "Humanitarian Center" by UN he said.Kuwait's active international role positively impacted on the international community as it did not hesitate to greatly support it during the Iraqi invasion back in 1990.He endorsed the initiative of simulations of work of International Organizations for University Students which will allow them to learn means of solving global challenges.The students expressed their deepest gratitude to the Kuwaiti diplomat for the rich information he offered to them on Kuwait. They also boasted of playing the role of the Kuwait delegation at the RomeMUN as Kuwait has a key humanitarian role in relieving refugees especially the Syrians by offering them basic needs besides medical care and education.The Rome Model United Nations 2016- RomeMUN is the largest diplomatic simulation for University students in Italy and among the biggest in Europe. The intent is to teach students the actual inner workings of the United Nations with the goal of finding common and shared solutions to diverse issues. Some 2000 students coming from all over the world will be discussing the topics as either judges or delegates for the 2016 edition of RomeMUN.
