Third Kuwaiti citizen killed in Lebanon in three days

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIRUT March 12 (KUNA) -- A Kuwaiti national was found dead in Burj Hammoud town northeast Beirut on Saturday two days after two compatriots were killed in Kahala neighborhood in east Beirut.Kuwait's Ambassador in Beirut Abdulaal Al-Qenai speaking to KUNA said the Lebanese authorities informed him of the latest murder."The Embassy is coordinating with the Lebanese security services regarding the probes into the possible perpetrators of and motives behind the crime" Al-Qenai said."Under the current exceptional security conditions the Embassy renews the previous warnings against coming to Lebanon and urges its nationals to leave the country as soon as possible" he stressed.Yesterday the Lebanese Internal Security Forces (ISF) said they arrested two Syrian suspects who later confessed to the murder of two Kuwaitis in Kahala the day before.Preliminary investigations showed that theft was the motive behind the brutal murder of the two victims the National News Agency (NNA) reported citing a statement by the ISF.The Embassy appreciated in a statement last night the ISF efforts which led in a short time to the arrest of the killers of two Kuwaiti nationals.The Embassy expressed profound gratitude to the Lebanese security personnel and politicians who showed solidarity with Kuwait and denounced the despicable crime.It voiced anew condolences to the families of the two victims and expressed confidence in the ability of the impartial judiciary of Lebanon to give the perpetrators of the crime the appropriate punishment.The recent security and political instability in Lebanon prompted the State of Kuwait the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates to issue travel warnings to their nationals and advice those in Lebanon to leave for home.
