China's CRRC Corp registers USD 1.3bn US deal


(MENAFN) China's main train producer won a USD 1.3bn deal to supply Chicago with rolling stock, as Beijing looks to make high-tech firms capable of competing for deals.

CRRC has signed a deal of USD 1.3bn to manufacture 846 subway carriages for the Midwestern US city, replacing almost half its fleet.

Moreover, it was the biggest train supply deal in china's developed economy, calling it a "breakthrough for the nation's exports of high-end equipment."

Chinese companies have signed many deals to build railways in several nations, involving Indonesia, Serbia and Hungary and in Thailand.
