Slovakia logs worst surplus in 5 years


(MENAFN) Slovakia's overseas trade registered a surplus of USD3.6 billion throughout last year, the poorest figures since 2011, based on recent reports.

In 2015, the Central Europe's Republic had the uppermost trade surpluses with Germany; USD6.1bn, Great Britain; USD2.9bn, and Poland with USD2.6bn.

Contrariwise, the EU member posted the highest trade deficits with China; USD4.8 billion, South Korea; USD4.5 billion and Russia for a total of USD2.2 billion.

"Overall exports rose by 4.9 percent y-o-y to USD74.7 billion, while total imports surged by 7.6 percent to USD71.1 billion," stated the Slovak Statistics Office.
