Kuwait- Abu Sayyaf group threatens to harm four hostages


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUALA LUMPUR March 11 (KUNA) -- Islamic militant group known as Abu Sayyaf holding the three foreigners and a local women abducted in Samal Island threatened to execute their captives if they do not get ransom money for each of the three foreigners within one month.In a video footage posted on Facebook last March 8 a masked man acting as the spokesman for the group presented Canadians John Ridsdel and Robert Hall Norwegian Kjartan Sekkingstad and Filipino Marites Flor who were abducted from a Samal Island beach resort last September.The video post was confirmed for its authenticity by the Philippine Army.The spokesman said "we are giving a warning (of) one month for the families to (meet) the demand. Starting today March 8 until April 8 2016." Local media reported that the group demanded PESO one billion for each hostage.Last November the group posted the first video on the four hostages and was demanding a USD 29 million for each hostage.Abu Sayyaf group is known to be linked with Al-Qaeda and bear the responsibility of taking the bloodiest attacks in the Philippine.
